Was extremely bored just now, so did MSN roleplay with ZD... XD (Debbie came in later...)

Here's the story we conjured out of thin air~

Characters:
- Tenjo (ZD's char)

- Ferun

Standing in front of the dead body lying on the middle of the road, Tenjo took out his note book and started taking notes about the dead body. It was the middle of the night and there was no one but him. Him and the dead body. But a pair of bright eyes were watching his every move. Everything seemed like a perfect accident, it's not Tenjo's job to do this, he only walked past the area and spotted the dead body. But the suitcase beside the dead body attracted his attention, it contained illegal drugs and there's a note in the dead man's hand. Tenjo tried his best not to get curious and move the body before the police come.

Then the owner of the pair of eyes watching him decided to show himself. Stepping out into the light of the street lamp, Solaris strolled towards Tenjo and the dead body casually, his hands shoved into the pockets of his jeans. His medium spiky hair gave the 19 year old a dishevelled look. "Greetings, Tenjo," he greeted coolly.

"Solaris?" Tenjo look at the young man walking to him with a curious look. "What are you doing here? It's 2am."

Solaris gave a deeply exaggerated sigh. "I could have said the same for you," he replied.

"I was just walking home from work, and...stopped here for a while." Tenjo gave a glance to the dead body, surprised by the young man's calmness.

"Work?" Solaris asked in surprise. He tilted his head questioningly.

"Not exactly, but most likely after tonight it will become one of my task." Tenjo shrugged and gave a tired smile.

Solaris snorted. He kicked at the ground with his right foot. He felt extremely guilty and bad for doing something like this to Tenjo, a friend he had known to be more reliable and trustworthy than most people. But Tyco and Rin would be in danger if he didn't.

A light shone from the streets not far, Tenjo recognise them, he's way too familiar with those cars, the police cars. "Looks like they're here." Tenjo raised his head a little and said with the serious look back on his face again.

A panicked look flashed across Solaris' face, but it was covered up almost immediately. "Tenjo," he said. "Follow me, and bring that case." He turned and disappeared down a side road.

"Huh? Wait..."Tenjo turned to Solaris and then to the light again. Despite the countless questions popping up in his head, he picked up the suit case and followed Solaris, he have always trusted this friend of his.

The young man hurried down the side road that was completely dark, only lit up by the street lamp light spilling in from the main road. Then he turned another corner. The corner went on for a few more metres before it ended in the beginning of a forest. Tenjo tried his best to keep up by hearing the sound of the footsteps infront of him. He took out his phone from his jacket pocket and looked for officer Ronald's phone number, he had to inform Ronald about the suit case in his hands.

"I'm sorry." Solaris' voice sounded from somewhere in the shadows, and that was the only thing he heard before his phone was knocked from his hand and he was shoved roughly to the ground, the suitcase flying out of his other hand. Someone had pinned him down.

"Solaris?! What are you doing?!" Tenjo had a bad feeling that he had never felt for years. He tried his best to struggle but eventually realised that his years spend in the library had done nothing to help him in this kind of situation.

A black shoe stepped in front of his face. "Thank you, Solaris," an unfamiliar voice said smoothly. "Where is Tyco and Rin?" Solaris growled in reply.

Tenjo stopped struggling and kept motionless. He listened carefully to the unfamiliar voice above and locked it in his memory, along with the two names mentioned by Solaris. He had to keep calm in order to think, for all this years it's his mind that feed him, and now he needs it to survive.

The man that had pinned Tenjo down yanked him upright. The man standing in front of him was grinning maliciously at him. Solaris stood in a corner, half-hidden by the shadows. When Tenjo looked at him, he glanced away shamefully. "Bring his girlfriend and her brother," the man grinning said.

Tenjo sighed, he closed his eyes for a while and opened them again. It's a mixed feeling inside him, he wanted to trust Solaris but it seemed like his trust had been thrown on the ground and stepped. 'There must be a reason behind all this, there's always a truth behind everything.' Tenjo thought to himself.

Another man appeared, dragging somebody behind him. When they came into view, it revealed a young woman around the same age of Solaris, and an even younger boy that appeared around 8 years of age. "Rin!" Solaris exclaimed and hurried forward - only to be blocked by the still-grinning man. "What...Ferun, you promised!" Solaris glowered, his fists clenched.

Tenjo observed, that's the only thing he could do now anyway. He had only seen the young lady a few times along with Solaris, Solaris introduced her as his girlfriend, he did not know the boy but from the similiar features of the young lady and the boy, Tenjo predicted the boy as the young lady's relative. 'Kidnapping case？' Tenjo does not want to be spotted staring at them, so he closed his eyes to start thinking again.

"Yes, yes. But you haven't completed everything yet, Solaris," Ferun said mockingly.

Tenjo frowned alittle, it seemed like Solaris had gotten into some really troublesome matter. 'But what does all this got to do with me?！'

All eyes turned to Tenjo. "Be quiet!" Ferun snapped. "You have caused enough trouble for us by digging into our plans and disrupting all of them." He leaned close to Tenjo's face and hissed, "I bet you have not realised that the dead man was one of your clients. He paid dearly and well for trying to come after us."

Hibari was walking along the streets. It was midnight, and he had just finished his work. He felt relaxed walking along the quiet road. No people, no crowds. Then suddenly, he heard someone shouting, "I bet you have not realised that the dead man was one of your clients. He paid dearly and well for trying to come after us."Hibari looked around and saw a guy pinned to the ground by another. Hibari was curious but did  not want to get himself involved, so he observed the scene from a distance. '

"I was just doing my job." Tenjo kept calm, panic or fear will bring him nothing but get his weakness exposed to the man.

The more Hibari watched, the more frightened he got. This was no ordinary argument or fight. His mind was shouting to him, "Run Hibari! Before its too late!" Hibari backed off slowly. Then, he heard a twig snap. Crap! He thought, as he looked down at his feet. he had stepped on a twig. As he looked up, he could see angry faces staring at him. 

Tenjo raised his head and spotted a man, he could see the fear flickering in the man's eyes. Tenjo realise that the other's attention was attracted away, and manage to struggle out of their hands this time. He took his phone from the ground while the others was in a mess, and dashed out to the main street towards the nearest police station.

Hibari could see the trapped man escaping from the group of people. They split up. Two of them were chasing the esaped man, while the other two was slowly approaching him "Don't you know its rude to stare?" one of them said. "Come on Solaris, finish this pest" the other muttered, as the other guy, known as Solaris took out a gun. Hibari stood there, frozen. He thought, "Well, this was it." there was nowhere to run. Suddenly, the sound of engine roared in the air. The car stopped beside Hibari and the door flew open. Inside sat a young girl. She was about 19 years old. "Get in!" She shouted. Hibari quickly got in and the car zoomed off.

Solaris gulped when he took out the gun. His hand shook so fiercely that he almost dropped it. Then taking a deep breath, he raised the gun, and with a quick motion, kicked the other man to the ground, spun around, aimed the gun at Ferun, and shot.

--------Tenjo's POV--------

Tenjo was never a religious person, but for the first time in his life he thanked god. His phone was still working perfectly, he called officer Ronald and the call was picked up almost instantly.

--------Hibari's POV--------

Hibari felt a bit giddy. Everything was happening so fast. He turned to Kayla, his sister. "What are you doing?! Go back, go back!" Kayla stopped the car and stared at Hibari. "Are you nuts! We'll get killed!" "I just have a feeling" Hibari muttered softly. He opened he car door and ran back the scene.

--------Solaris' POV--------

Solaris' hand was still shaking as he lowered his gun. Ferun's astonished look was fixed on him as he swayed, then finally toppled over, landing at the feet of the man holding Rin and Tyco captive.

--------Tenjo's POV--------

"Mr Tenjo?" officer Ronald's voice seemed puzzeled. "Officer Ronald, I'm in a dangerous situation right now, there is some kind of association planning on drug trading, I'm around Calandior street 22！There's two hostage in their hands, a young lady and a boy." Tenjo was panting as he ran, he was not a person who trains himself physically, and he was seriously considering on going to the gym if he is still alive after tonight.

--------Hibari's POV--------

Hibari was running back towards the scene, with Kayla tailing behind. He knew that there was something wrong, something he had mistaken. As he was running, he saw Solaris with a gun and a guy lying on the floor, blood surrounding the lifeless body.

--------Hibari and Solaris' POV--------

Solaris glanced at the man. The look in his eyes were lifeless. He had killed. The other man winced. He was unarmed, while Solaris had a gun. The other man that he had kicked was still on the floor. Reluctantly, he backed away, letting go of the rope that held Rin and Tyco. As soon as the man had fled, Solaris raced back to Rin and Tyco, freeing them from their bonds.

--------All together again--------

Tenjo did not want to do nothing while waiting for officer Ronald, he stopped running and turned back. He was worried, about Solaris and the two hostage. Tenjo was not very sure about what he did that offened those people, but he was sure he was just doing his job. While walking back, he heard a gun shot that stunned him, he dashed back to where he was before and saw the man on the floor, with a pool of blood around him. "Solaris！What..have you done?！"

Hibari stood there, staring at the man soaked in the pool of blood. He rushed forward and seized Solaris. He knew that he should not be acting so rashly, but he could not help it. "Murderer!" He shouted. Behind him, he could hear soft sobs. It was Kayla, crying.

Rin had remained calm throughout the whole thing. Gently, she prised Hibari's fingers from Solaris' arm. "Ferun was evil," she murmured softly, distracting him. "He killed my brother when he could not pay off his debts. Solaris protected me and Tyco by offering himself to pay off my brother's debt instead of killing the both of us too."

--------Officer Ronald's POV--------

Officer Ronald was in the police car, he had not rest for the entire night. Tenjo was a brilliant detective, and he's brain is one of the most valued power for the police force. Tenjo left his name card beside the dead body they found not long ago, it's a sign to them that Tenjo had been there and examined the body before.

--------The others' POV--------

Hibari calmed down a little after he heard Rin's story. He sighed and faced Solaris, "I......I'm sorry...for...well...acting so rashly"

Solaris shook his head. "I understand your feelings. I didn't want to kill either, but I had to protect Rin and Tyco." He dropped the gun, just realising that he was still holding it, and looked at his hands. "The hands of a killer," he whispered.

Tenjo noticed the familiar lights from the police cars were approaching them, he sighed and placed his hand on Solaris' shoulder. "A killer kills because that's what he's meant to do, but you kill because you want to protect someone."

Hibari nodded, but said nothing. Behind him, Kayla was still crying, and he could not understand why. He walked towards her and tried to calm her down.

Officer Ronald got out of the police car, from the situation he could more or less get the idea of the situation. "Mr Tenjo." Ronald said as he walked to where Tenjo and the rest were standing.

"Officer Ronald, I'm afraid you're a little late." He could see the tired look on Tenjo's face, his eyes moved to the dead body on the floor and sighed. "I sure am."

Solaris winced. He looked at the officer straight in the eyes. "I am willing to take whatever punishment for my crime."

Officer Ronald smiled and nodded. "I can see that you're a very responsible young lad, now please follow me to the police station. And Mr Tenjo, thanks for helping us once again." Ronald turned to Tenjo and gave a pat on the shoulder of the detective. Tenjo smiled and did not say anything, he had always believed that law is fair, but obviously god isn't.

Rin looked at both Solaris and the officer. "Officer, Solaris was just protecting me and my brother. Ferun had killed many people, including my brother, and I hope that you won't penalise Solaris too heavily."

"I don't makes judgements young lady." Ronald sighed and replied, it's not his job to send others to jail, he just send them to courts. He had seen too much judgements done unfairly due to lack of lawyers speaking for the ones that he believe is innocent. "I'll help him find a good lawyer." Tenjo looked at Rin and said.

Rin could only watch as officer Ronald led Solaris away. Holding on to her brother's hand tightly, she hoped that everything will be alright.

XD As people who have read Inkheart might know, the incident happening to Solaris is the same as Dustfinger in Inkheart (when he betrayed Mo (Silvertongue) to Capricorn) and Inkdeath (when his daughter Brianna was held hostage by Orpheus and he had to hand the Bluejay (actually it's Mo who assumed the role of the robber) over to the Adderhead to get his daughter).
