Even though I already knew, I still felt the disappointment.

This is something that nobody can prepare himself/herself for, even though the person might have already known it. You just keep hoping that the result would be different.

I didn’t pick because of anyone. And I don’t get why you should behave that way even if I did. Didn’t you yourself do the same thing, close to a year ago?
